Legislative Update, Bad News Edition
The State’s budget is in bad shape, and we’re looking at cuts in ECEAP, Working Connections, and across all education and human services programs.
These cuts will include:
- $925,155 from ECEAP (139 children, or 1 month eliminated from services)
- Reduction of Working Connections subsidy eligibility to 175% of the federal poverty level as of October 1 ( a monthly income of less than $2,670 for a family of three). This will cut 2500 families from WCCC. Click here for more information, and for ways to give input on these changes.
- Possible further dramatic cuts to Working Connections, including eligibility only for TANF recipients
